Last Blog

I can't believe that this is the last blog that I have to write. This class taught me so many useful skills. At first I was regretting taking this class, but I really enjoyed it and I learned a lot from it. I really hope that there will be another class similar to this one that I can take in the future as technology changes, as it so often does. I am so glad to have learned about all of the programs and also all of the websites that we were introduced to throughout the lessons. I know that when I do my self evaluation my numbers are definitately going to increase in all areas.

Tapped In

I did not realize that there were so many things that you could do on tapped in. It is really neat. I really like all of the ways to communicate thoughts and actions. It is a lot to remember though. This is really a great tool to use with a classroom. The instructor was even saying that she uses the TI for homework for her students since she gets the emails. It is so neat how you can have private sessions for your classroom alone that is a great way to teach a lesson. I hope that I remember everything that I learned today, so that I can utilize it in my classroom.

Hands on 10

While I was doing hands on 10 I realized that my assignments are now taking half the time. However, this assignmen was a little frustrating for me. For me the mail merge was what took me a while. For some reason I would have duplicate names on the greeting line or a field that was supposed to change for each letter was not. It took me quite a few tries to figure out what I was doing, but eventullay I got it. I think that that was the first time in a short while that I had so much trouble figuring out something so simple on one of the hands on assignments.

Coming to an end

I cannot believe that in less than 2 weeks class will be over and not to mention I am so behind on my blogs. I am very proud of the progress that I have made in this course. I actually have fun looking for things to add to my portfolio. I did not realize how much time flies when you are focused on that type of project. There are so many possibilities when creating a webpage. I am glad that I have learned skills that I will be able to utilize. There have been many courses where I have wondered what the purpose of the course is, thankfully, this is not one.

Managing A Classroom

I admire the way that Dr. Thompson manages this class. At first looking at the syllabus seemed to overwhelming, but there is definitely a method to the madness. Having us stay involved by assigning so many assignments is the best way for us to learn. In the previous online classes that I took you were basically on your own there was not really anything to keep you motivated throughout the course or to make sure that you studied along the way. The way that this course is set up really keeps you on the right track and involved in what is going on. I also love all of the websites that we have been introduced to throughout the course. There are so many great ideas on the websites that I would have never known about. I hope that I can keep a list of all the great sources that we utilized throughout the course.

Strange Things

I was working on one of my assignment and all kinds of strange things started happening to my computer. For some reason I could not close down any of the applications that I was using even when I tried to go throughout the task manager. It is pretty neat how may of the tools you use to manage different applications are so universal. It almost seems like when you learn how to use one you can use them all. It can sometimes get a little time consuming, but it is not as hard as it seems. I am so glad that I took this class, my computer knowledge and skills have definitely improved.

How Easy

Today I realized that computers really are not as complicated as I thought in the beginning. It seems as if once you learn one program many of the tools are universal which helps you to navigate and manage the programs so much easier. Not only that once you know what you are doing it becomes so much fun. I am so glad that I took this class this semester and that Dr. Thompson challenged us. I was even able to use my excel skills at work to create a project for my supervisor this past week. The crazy thing is that I did the project not knowing I had an excel assignment coming up. I used the skills from the other Microsoft programs and figured out what to do. I finally feel some relief.
